I’m sitting here in the Calgary airport about to wing my way to a very special event called, of all things, Wolf Milk.
Somehow, through the imaginal intuition of three precious people, I find myself unexpectedly winging my way to this immersion with Dr. Martin Shaw, one of the leading myth teachers in the English speaking world.
So far the journey has been graced with a magic I could never conjure, but only be awake enough to notice … I was literally surrounded by older women who were on an adventure together. They could be a standup comedy troupe, these farmer’s wives and widows, in their 70’s and 80’s.
One of them tried to bring a jar of pickles through security and the guard wouldn’t let her.
So she ate them.
Then they were all drawing straws about who would have to sit beside her on the plane.
One of them, who told me she was 86, said, “I know why they call us q-tips… it’s because of this puff of white fluff on my head, but also because I love to wear these god-awful white sneakers. White on both ends now, I am. How did it come to this?”
Then the laughter, laughter that would split your side.
They inspired this little two line poem:
Life is reverie and sorrow,
And cynicism can feck off.
I half expect to jot a bit more down here over the weekend, but in the meantime, if you haven’t watched it yet, here is my brand new music video for Song of Wandering Aengus:
Also, we’re encouraging pre-purchase of Cianalas/Tãsknota. It will be shipped 2 weeks prior to the November 3rd release if pre-purchased before August 1st.

Love the two line poem!! Also the tremendous story of the comedy troupe 💖
I haven’t Alana, although I would really love to some day. I’ve been listening to Bardskull lately and it is a feral treat!
